Northwest Johnson County Republican Meeting

I will be attending the Northwest Johnson County Republican meeting on August 16th at 6:30 PM at Barley Brewhaus (Midland Dr & 435). I will be giving an update about my campaign during the meeting along with other area candidates. Come join us at Barley’s for an evening of fun, food and politics!

Post-Primary Update

The results from yesterday’s primary election are in. I received 1,388 votes on the Republican ballot. My opponent received 530 votes on the Democrat ballot. That means if yesterday’s election had been the general, I would have received 62% of the total votes, my opponent 24% and 14% abstaining.

Thank you to all of those who came out to support me in the primary. I appreciate your continued support. I will continue to work hard during this next phase of the election and bring on a big win in November!

We’re Back Up

In case any of you were wondering about the lack of updates these past few months, the website was hacked. Visitors could still view my old content, but I was prevented from posting new material. It was fitting that last night during the Primary Watch Party celebration, my web designer was able to isolate the problem caused by the hack and get the site running again with increased security. So, expect a wave of news over the next few days as I catch up on the activities of the past few months!

Turkey Creek Festival Parade

Tax Day Tea Party Rally

Be sure to come out to the Tax Day Tea Party rally on April 15th. The rally, which is expected to be one of the largest in the nation, will be held at the Community America Ballpark (home of the Kansas City T-bones near Legends Mall). The rally will be from 3 PM – 9 PM. I will have a booth at the rally along with fellow candidates, Amanda Grosserode, John Rubin and Greg Smith.

Kansas House Passes Major Firearms Protection Bill

The Kansas Firearms Freedom Act passed in the House today. This bill states that firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition produced privately or commercially within the state of Kansas and remains within the state borders, cannot be regulated by the Federal government. Since the Federal government only has the constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce, and no state lines are crossed in this scenario, the Federal government is not granted the power to regulate this aspect of the firearms industry. This bill marks a major step in protecting the 2nd Amendment rights of Kansans!
