Audit the Federal Reserve

This morning I e-mailed the following letter to Senator Pat Roberts:

Dear Senator Roberts,

I am writing to encourage you to co-sponsor S. 604, the full audit of the Federal Reserve Bank.  Senator Sam Brownback has already added his name to the growing list of co-sponsors in the Senate.  Congress has the constitutional responsibility to oversee the issuing of currency.  However, the Federal Reserve has gone unchecked by Congress since it’s creation in 1913.  Though there are other Senate bills seeking to accomplish partial audits of the Federal Reserve, only S. 604 would require a full audit.  Please show your constituents that you expect Congress to honor its constitutional responsibility by co-sponsoring this legislation.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Brett Hildabrand

This is a crucial piece of legislation.  For almost 100 years the Federal Reserve has managed our money supply behind closed-doors with little to no congressional oversight.  Given our current economic crisis, it is vital to know exactly how this institution is handling our money.  Please act this week by e-mailing Senator Roberts or calling him at one of the following offices:

Overland Park Office:  (913) 451-9343

Topeka Office:  (785) 295-2745

Wichita Office:  (316) 263-0416

Dodge City Office:  (620) 227-2244
